Tips on registering for our duplicates

Pairs should register at least 10 minutes before start time. Why, I hear you ask? Just like at your club, you are usually asked to be seated 15 minutes prior to give the director a chance to lay out the movement. It is just the same on BBO. Our choices are: –

If we have 3 – 7 tables, the movement will be:

Howell 8 rounds of 3 boards

Howell 12 rounds of 2 boards

If we have 8-15 tables, the movement will be

Mitchell 8 rounds of 3 boards

Mitchell 12 rounds of 2 boards

If we have 16 or more tables, now BBO will split the game into 2 +sections

Mitchell 8 rounds of 3 boards

Mitchell 12 rounds of 2 boards

As you can see there are some very critical times for the Director to make their decision. And we cannot change the movement once the game starts.

Where should you be at START TIME?

A lot can happen between REGISTRATION and START TIME

If you have not been active (for a while) BBO will ask “are you still there?”. If you do not answer, you will be logged out.

If that happens, log back in.

SOLUTION: Do something, like click on entries, check you are listed and see who else is playing, move your mouse, etc.

At game time you need to be in the COMPETITIVE zone of BBO, not the CASUAL zone

IF BBO CANNOT FIND YOU …. Then the game starts WITHOUT you and there are two unhappy players, being YOU and YOUR partner.
